Discipline Procedure
Our classroom is a place of joy, fun, and learning. To foster such a safe and productive environment, we must have rules and consequences. The rules are carefully considered and made so the children can learn and have fun every day.
Our 5 basic rules are:

* I will listen and follow directions.
* I will be kind to others.
* I will keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself.
* I will be prepared and on time.
* I will respect myself and others.

We have a behavior chart in the classroom. It is designed with colored squares above their name. If a child chooses to break a rule, they are reminded of the rule and consequences for breaking it. If the child breaks the rule again, they will remove their blue square and have 5 minutes time out in the room. If the child breaks a rule again the same day, he/she will remove their green square and miss all of recess. If he/she breaks another rule, they will remove their yellow square and will have a phone call or note home. If he/she breaks another rule, they will remove their red square and be sent to the principal's office for intervention. Once again, the consequences are:
Consequences:

* Blue shape removed=5 minutes time out in the room
* Green shape removed= miss recess
* Yellow shape removed= phone call or note home
* Red shape removed=sent to the principal

Each day you will receive a small colored note that tells you how the day went. Look for and expect BLUE NOTES!! Reward their good behavior! That means they helped us have a joyful and learning classroom!!
