I try to accentuate the positive with verbal expressions of praise, "starbucks" and other rewards. I will redirect, remind a child of the rules before asking him/her to change their clip to yellow, red, etc. You will be informed of their daily conduct through the green take-home folder.
Activities are varied throughout the day so that students are not expected to sit in one place for long periods of time. Sometimes I play an "action" CD to get the wiggles out. Many of our teaching activities also allow movement.
