Basic Language Skills is a multi-sensory, phonics based reading program that helps dyslexic students and students with dyslexic characteristics learn to read!

Brenham ISD has a dyslexia specialist on each campus that is trained to teach Basic Language Skills.

Dyslexia is having trouble with reading, writing, or spelling. It is something that a child is born with and has a tendency to run in families.

It does not mean that your child is not intelligent or that they have not had support in learning reading, writing or spelling.
It might mean that your child will receive accommodations in class and the support of a dyslexia specialist.
