BHS Theatre Classes
1. Safety first
There are many potential hazards in a theatre. Do not use any item that you have not been approved to use.
2. Be on time and prepared.
You will not be released to go to your locker or car. Have your supplies, costume, props, and script with you every class.
3. Food, Drinks, and Cell Phones
Food, drinks, and gum are strictly prohibited in the theatre and classroom except for bottled water per school policy. Cell phones are to be out of sight and turned completely off while in class – silent ring tones and vibrate are not acceptable. Phones will be confiscated and taken to the office the first time they are seen or heard.
4. Put things back where they go – neatly.
Clean-up days are a necessity in the theatre. No one likes them, but following this rule cuts down on having them often.
5. Show respect for presentations and performances.
No laughing unless it’s a comedy.
Constructive criticism only is acceptable.
6. Work together without complaining or fighting.
Group work is done often in all classes. Share the load equally using others’ strengths. See me with problems.
Consequences
First offense – conference with teacher (except for cell phone usage, as stated above)
Second offense – phone call to parent and detention (work in classroom before or after school)
Third offense – referral to principal
Tardy to class
School policy will be followed regarding tardiness.
