Welcome! My name is Amanda (Baker) Gurka. I am a true "Brenhamite" being raised her the majority of my life. I attended schools here in Brenham, which led me to be a 1998 graduate of Brenham High School. I then went directly into capturing my teaching degree by becoming a 2002 graduate of Sam Houston State University, with a degree in Elementary Education and specialized content areas of health and ESL. I am currently in my 8th year of teaching, 7 of which have been 4th grade at Krause. I am married and have two beautiful children. A soon to be 5 year old daughter, and new 8 month old son. Every day that I wake up is a new day that I get to spend with the children of our future.
